My name is Marvin Rolnick. I was born in Brooklyn, NY, and moved to Long Beach, Long Island, at the age of five. I served in the USAF during the Vietnam era, and after my discharge, I relocated to Los Angeles.
As a young man, I struggled with a life that felt meaningless, constantly asking myself the big questions: Who am I? and Why am I here? With few answers, I was overwhelmed by feelings of loneliness, darkness, and deep despair, even contemplating ending it all. Through the ups and downs of my journey, I discovered that true happiness doesn’t come from pursuing what the world offers as pleasures and values. It comes from something deeper and more enduring. Rather than simply preaching my beliefs, I brought them to life through the characters in my novel, who embark on a spiritual journey and discover a more compassionate and fulfilling existence—one that we can all attain.
Now retired, I split my time between Seal Beach in Southern California, where I live part-time with my brother, and the San Gabriel Valley, where I spend most of my time with my wife and three cats.
